Burgas business model workshop and testimonial

Doing the Business Model Canvas workshop with Horizon Nua, helped change our way of thinking: we started to think a little bit more outside the box; to search for new approaches and ideas on how the park could be renovated and supported other than with the municipal budget. This means that through the activities in the park, financial income could be generated, which could later be used for the maintenance of the park in its further development. This was a stepping stone for our project”

Ivaylo Trendafilov, Chief Expert,
Burgas Municipality, Connecting Nature City, November 2019

Our work with Burgas Municipality

As a result of completing the workshop on Finance and Business Models with Horizon Nua, the city of Burgas is exploring a number of private sector financing options to co-fund the restoration of St Teresa’s Park located in the city centre. Discussions have opened with the Church which is sited right in the middle of the park to contribute some private funds towards the restoration works and other sources of private income generation to support the long term management of the park include plans to develop a co-working hub with outdoor campus similar to a co-working space in the US called Second Home.

Green4C entrepreneurship workshop

Our work with Green4C

As part of the first Green4C Summer School on Green Care Entrepreneurship, Horizon Nua was invited to deliver a workshop to course participants on business planning for nature-based enterprises. The summer school, held at the University of Padua in Italy, attracted course participants from across the globe with ideas for green care business ranging from social farming in Africa, to forest bathing in India, sustainable tourism in Guatemala to social agriculture with the homeless in Dublin.
